Silvretta Arena is the third-biggest ski resort in the Austrian province of Tyrol and the region’s go-to choice for varied days in the snow.

How big is the ski resort?

Silvretta Arena in Ischgl is a cross-border ski area. On a surface of about 515 hectares, it boasts 239 km of slopes. Ski runs with a length of up to 11 kilometres as well as special slopes and snow parks make the ski resort a popular choice.

How many cable cars and lifts are there?

45 state-of-the-art cable cars and lifts with a capacity of around 97,000 persons per hour take skiers up to the summits swiftly and safely.

How snow-sure is Silvretta Arena ski resort?

Thanks to the ski resort’s location at almost 3,000 metres above sea level, it gets reliable snow from November to early May. In addition, there’s an artificial snow-making system with 1,100 snow guns. Every year, the end of the ski season is celebrated with the Top of the Mountain Closing Concert in early May.

The Smuggler’s Trail in Ischgl and Samnaun

For skiing enthusiasts

Without a doubt, the Smuggler’s Trail is one of the biggest highlights of Tyrol’s Silvretta Arena ski resort in Ischgl and Samnaun. Following in the footsteps of the smugglers of the olden days, skiers and snowboarders can explore the border area between Austria and Switzerland. The perfect opportunity to get an idea of the efforts it took for the smugglers to smuggle nylon stockings or coffee into the country!

The trail offers three routes with varying difficulty levels and different lengths. The Gold Trail is the most challenging one, both the Silver Trail and the Bronze Trail are easier, with the latter mostly comprising blue slopes.
